...But No Free Speech for Honest Ernie Also, I'm not waiting around for the paper to get to the bottom of the Hydro-Vac matter. Ernest Oliver presented all his material to Editor Tom Griscom about a month ago and he warmly introduced [him] to reporter Kathy Gilbert to handle the matter. Oliver says she wrote a long piece on the matter but it never got printed. I was surprised that neither Oliver nor any of Foxworth's polluting past got a mention in Gilbert's article parroting the charges against Foxworth itemized in the court order. So I called her to ask about it, and was told, "My editors won't allow me to speakd to you." Well, I was in the mood for some chit-chat, so I called her editor. Tom Griscom told me, "I don't know where she got that from. We don't keep people from talking to anyone." After I assured him that I couldn't get even any some friendly convo out of her, he said he would look into it and get back with me. That was two days ago. |
